The 55 Neighbor Hood Crips are a small African American street gang founded in the 1970s in South Los Angeles, California. This gang claims 55th Street from Normandie Avenue in the west to Vermont Avenue in the east as their turf. During the 1980s the gang occupying this area was known as the "55 Hustler Crips". During the early 1990s, they changed their name to "55 Neighborhood Crips" (55 NHC) and then shortly thereafter two other Neighbor Hood Crip factions emerged; the 57 Neighbor Hood Crips, 58 Neighbor Hood Crips. Collectively they make up the Rollin 50s Neighborhood Crips. Their enemies include the Eight Tray Gangster Crips, 52 Hoover Gangster Crips, 59 Hoover Criminals Gang, 107 Hoover Criminals Gang, 52 Broadway Gangster Crips, 51 Trouble Gangster Crips, Van Ness Gangster Brims, Harvard Park Brims, Fruit Town Brims and Black P Stones. Allies include all Neighbor Hood Crips but mostly the Rollin 60s Neighborhood Crips, Rollin 90s Neighborhood Crips, Rollin 40s Neighborhood Crips (Excluding The Avenues Click) and Rollin 30s Harlem Crips. The 55 Neighborhood Crips are the largest sub-set under the Rollin 50s Neighborhood Crips, with approximately 90 documented members.
