When the war between the Rollin 60s Neighborhood Crips and the Eight Tray Gangster Crips began in 1979, surrounding neighbourhoods east and west of the 110 Freeway in Los Angeles found themselves choosing sides and alliances with either one of the two super gangs. Those neighbourhoods west of the 110 Freeway who were adjacent to Rollin 60s territory sided with them and began to refer to themselves as NHC or Neighbor Hood Crips while those neighborhoods friendly towards the 83 Gangsters on the eastern side of the 110 Freeway adopted the Gangster Crips card. The feud between Gangster Crips and Neighbor Hood Crips was the catalyst that set the stage for many Crip on Crip violence from the late 70's til this day. Most N-Hood (Neighborhood) and Rollin 0s Crip gangs are under the Westside Crips card. There are many different sets claiming the NHC card, each with its own alliances, rivalries and history:
