Hunter's Point

A district in south San Francisco known locally for its tough housing projects, Hunter's Point (or HP) gained national prominence as a haven for hardcore, underground gangsta rap in the 1990's through artists such as Mr. Cee and (later) Hitman, both members of RBL Posse.

Several of its more promising rappers -- including Mr. Cee in 1996 and Hitman in 2003 -- were killed while in the prime of their careers.

In 2008, hunter's point natives known as the Bread Me Out Family released their first CD, titled They All Been Waiting, and their second CD, titled Millions in da Making. Their music is now available on itunes.
