Islington is a road that runs north and south seperating North York to the east and Etobicoke to the west and travels through the city of Toronto and York Region. From the north direction above Albion Road, the road co-ordinates and runs through the North York borough, while south of Albion Road enters into the Etobicoke borough. Established in the 19th century, Islington Avenue begins at Lake Shore Boulevard West at 7th Street in the former Town of New Toronto on the shores of Lake Ontario, in the southwest area of the City of Toronto, and proceeds north through the former village of Islington, also in Toronto, to Highway 27 at the former town of Kleinburg, in the City of Vaughan north of Toronto.
