The Rollin 40s are a Crip gang founded in the 1970's from the west side of South Central (west of the 110 Freeway) whose territory covers a large area from Figueroa Street in the East to Crenshaw Blvd. in the west, and from Vernon Avenue in the North down to 48th street or so to the South. The 40's are split up into a four subsets: the Western Side, Avenues, Park Sides (aka VSP = Vernon Square Park) and the Darksides. The Rollin 40s have been engaged in a war with the Rollin 30's Harlem Crips since about 1996, but have since agreed to a cease fire since 2005. The 40's also feud with the Rollin 20s NeighborHood Blood, Black P Stones, Fruit Town Brims, the Van Ness Gangster, 5-Deuce Hoover Gangster Crips, School Yard Crips, the 51 Trouble Gangster Crips, Rollin 30's Harlem Crips (although a truce was declared between the 2) and the 5-Deuce (52) Broadway Gangster Crips. The Rollin 40s Western Side, Parc Side, and Dark Sides are Neighbor Hood Crips. The Avenues have since broken off their NHC connections and now have bumpy relations with the other 40's clicks and the Rollin 60s Neighborhood Crips. The Western Side, Parc Side, and Dark Side clicks are still friendly toward all Neighbor Hood Crips and Raymond Avenue Crips. Members of the Rollin 40s are known to wear baby blue and Florida Marlins or Milwaukee Brewers apparel.
