The East Side (E/S) Blue Gate Mafia Crips are a predominantly African-American street gang located on the east side of the Watts district of South Los Angeles, California. This gang originated around the low income apartments Washington Courts during the 1980’s. The apartments spread from 103rd Street to Century Blvd, between Grandee Avenue and Wilmington Avenue. The name of this gang derives from a blue security gate that surround the main entrance of the apartment complex. The Blue Gate Mafia Crips falls under the "Mafia Crips" umbrella and are cliqued up with the Beach Town Mafia Crips, Fudge Town Mafia Crips, as well as the 99 Watts Mafia Crips. Other allies include the Compton Avenue Crips, Main Street Mafia Crips, Mac Mafia Crips, Boulevard Mafia Crips and the Angelo Mafia Crips. They are rivals of the Bounty Hunters Watts, Circle City Piru, Be-Bop Watts Bloods, and the Hacienda Village Bloods among the Bloods. The Blue Gate Mafia Crips are also rivals of the Grape Street Watts Crips, Hard Time Hustler Crips, Hat Gang Watts Crips as well as the Eight Tray Gangster Crips. Today, this gang shares their territory with the Beach Town Mafia Crips since being pushed off of their turf by the Grape Street Watts Crips.
