The Pirus, formerly known as the Piru Street Boys is a street gang from Los Angeles, California. They got their start in the late 1960's. Their reason for starting up was to combat with the well growing Crips street gang at the time, a gang which was bullying other smaller gangs, and even non gang members, therefore smaller street gangs banned together and created the Pirus, Brims, and later on the Bloods street gangs. Many people get the Pirus, Brims, and Bloods gangs confused with each other, yes they are all affiliated with each other, but they are not the same gang. The Pirus wear the color burgandy, while their allies the Brims, and the Bloods wear a bright red, all three gangs are rivals with the Crips, Hoover Criminals, and Black Mafia Family street gangs, and in some areas to a lesser extent are also rivals with all Folk Nation, and People Nation gangs. Although many might believe that Pirus are apart of the People Nation, they are not apart of the People Nation they are an independent street gang.
