Beaver Hills Park
A public park in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada located in the downtown area. It was erected in the early 1980s and instantly developed an unsavory reputation as a place to avoid at night. A major re-landscaping in 1993 improved sightlines from the street and classical music was introduced over loudspeakers in an effort to deter crime in the area. While the park is closed between 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., there are no fences or security to keep anyone out.
Edward Bone, 20, was stabbed to death in Beaver Hills Park at 1:30 a.m. on July 31st, 2007.
